Merger
It is
with mixed emotions that I report the merger of Waconda Chapter No. 217 and
Belfair Chapter No. 241.
Sadness mixed with joy – sadness because Grand Chapter lost a chapter - joy
because the newly formed Belfair Chapter is stronger because of their new
members.
The Merger Ceremony was attended by 104 members. After the beautifully performed Golden Chain was once more stretched around the newly formed chapter, Cheri Pruitt, WM of Belfair, requested all the new members of Belfair Chapter to come to the East. In the East those members were presented with permanent name tags giving their names and that they were Belfair Chapter! In addition, each member was presented with a three-ring binder telling them everything they wanted to know about their new Chapter.
It was a
very impressive and welcoming ceremony!
Training:
It has been my privilege to provide training
this past month to two Secretary Groups.
April 26th I attended a session with Silver Star No. 93;
Astral No. 75; Methow Valley No. 232; Evening Star No. 108; Harmony No. 56;
Oasis No. 191 and Grand Coulee Dam No. 237.
Then on
April 30th, I provided training to the secretaries of Vineland No. 84
(their Worthy Matron attended also); Malden No. 149; Hope No. 29 and gave some
handouts to a prospective secretary of Grand Coulee Dam No. 232.
I want to
give a big ‘Thank You’ to Eileen
Bone, Harmony Chapter and Betty Davis, Vineland Chapter, for being instrumental
in arranging for the training.
Last, but
not least, a continuing ‘Thank You’
to Norma Jean Roberts, Grand Secretary
Emeritus, for the donation of her time in working on the 2008-2009 Blue
Book; and to PGM Gerry Shafer who is also donating her time working on a Grand
Chapter project. Their contribution
to Grand Chapter is invaluable!
