MORNING'S LIGHT
Fresh with the morning,
I make my way
Out to the garden
To spend another day.
I play with God's handiwork,
Marching soil and planting seeds,
Trimming and pruning
And getting rid of weeds.
Such pleasures I find
Amidst daisies and roses,
And turning plants green
with water from my hoses.
Come join me in my garden,
And there we will commune
With nature at its very best
Enjoying beauty in full bloom.
And as the day turns to dusk
And flowers fold for the night;
I look forward to the next day
Dew on green leaves in morning's light.

GRAND
CHAPTER DECORATIONS
To all Chapter
Members:
Wow! Grand
Chapter is finally upon us! How exciting it is for everyone involved.
We'd like to
give you final instructions on what to do with your Chapter's American
flag at Grand Chapter. All flags must be turned in to the Decoration's
table (located near Registration) between 9 AM and 2 PM on Sunday, June
24th. The Chapter member turning in the flag will sign in their flag on
the appropriate form with a committee member. The committee will take the
flag and a sign showing the Chapter's name and number and hang them both.
ONLY MEMBERS OF THE DECORATION COMMITTEE will be hanging the flags and
taking them down this year! The flags will then need to be picked up and
signed for by a designated chapter member on Wed. June 27th between 1 PM
and 4 PM.
We
appreciate your cooperation with these instructions. A lot of work has
gone into these flags and we want them to be returned to the proper
owners!
Also,
several of this year's decorations are being borrowed or rented. NOT
EVERYTHING WILL BE FOR SALE! A list of the items for sale and their costs
will be available at the decoration's table. To purchase available items
you must see Jeanette Turner ONLY! She will take your money and give you
a receipt for your purchases. She will also give you instructions on
when, how, and where you can pick up your items. No decorations will
leave the Sun Dome without a receipt!
Again, thank
you for your cooperation, assistance, and understanding. See you at the
Sun Dome!!
With
Patriotic Pride,
-- Jeanette
Turner, Decorations Chairman

Sadness -
In today's Daily Inter Lake, Kalispell, I read that
Patty Davison passed away in Gardnerville, NV. Many of you
remember her as the wife of our late PGP Marcus Nichols.
She was a member of Adah Chapter #17, Kalispell. She passed away on her
birthday, Friday, May 25. She was 82. A memorial service was held at 10:00
a.m. this morning at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church. Services
will also be held at a later date in Kalispell.

Sadness in Idaho -
Some of you folks in Idaho and Oregon may know Velda Fairchild.
I just received word late this afternoon that she passed away unexpectedly
early Monday morning at home. She was a member of Loyaute #19 in Weiser.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at the Midvale Baptist
Church. Burial will be in the Eastside cemetery with OES graveside
services.
Velda was Grand Martha for La Sanders in 1982-83. She was Organist
for many years in Loyaute Chapter.
Velda was on the pulpit committee who selected my dad to be the
minister at the Midvale Baptist Church in 1956 where he served until
1958. Dad performed the marriage ceremony for Dean and Velda. I was the
attendant at their guest book.
If you care to send cards, the mailing address is:
Dean Fairchild
P.O. Box 125
2124 Dymoke Lane
Midvale, ID 83645
(Velda has said that the Midvale Post Office requires BOTH the P.O.
Box and the Dymoke address on the envelopes.)

Story of a Gramma who ought to meet my Dad!
Connie:
I'm really enjoying the newsletters. Thank you.
Your story here reminded me of so much. My
grandma's boyfriend the last few years of her life was Mel Snook, who
lived to be 103. He was elected to the Idaho State Senate for a time, and
held quite a few other positions in their small community in North Central
Idaho. I still remember, though, how cute I thought it was for him to sit
my mom and I down and ask for our permission/blessing for him to date
Grandma!!
Also, my family worked cattle for a long time,
although they lost a lot in the Depression. We have lots of stories of
the cattle drives, esp. taking them for sale early when the bank
foreclosed, etc. Going through photos the other day, I found one of my
auntie, labeled "Agnes branding cattle". ha ha! She must have been a
teen then, but now she's 95 (will be 96 in July).
Thank you again.

HOME TIPS ..
Clean and lubricate hinges, locks, and moving parts in window and door
hardware once a year to maintain ease of use. Keep furniture, and other
items that children might climb, away from windows for safety!
Replace incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs. Keep
appliances and their power cords away from water or heat sources. Do not
place cords under carpets or rugs or rest any furniture on them.
Test the auto-reverse functions on your garage door monthly. Check
the balance yearly. Familiarize yourself with the door's release system
in case of emergency or power failure.

A
father’s love is gentle, wise and kind.
He
helps to ease your fears and to clear your mind.
He
chases away the monsters in your bad dreams.
His
strength shows you that it’s not as bad as it seems.
He’s
a shoulder to cry on when you’re feeling low.
He
can give you a hug and a smile that warms your weary soul.
Always giving, freely, of his time.
To
put your care and well being first in his life.
To
ease your life from worry and strife.
A
father’s love is endless.
Growing more each day.
He’s
a light in the darkness.
To
guide you on your way.
He’s
a source of information and advise when something has gone wrong.
He
helps you to figure out the puzzle of your life.
Putting the pieces where they belong.
He’s
always, lifting you up and encouraging you to try.
With
him by your side, you can do anything.
Even
soar into the highest sky.
Giving tender, loving care when you are sick and in need.
Waiting on you, hand and foot.
Catering to your every need.
He
watches over you through the night, with a vigilance unsurpassed.
And
you know, without a doubt, for you, his love will last.
Making personal sacrifices that his family can have the best.
Keeping food on the table and under a roof in which to rest.
Taking care of those he holds most dear.
Being
there to laugh with them.
There
to wipe away their tears.
There’s nothing like a father’s love.
Not
near or far.
You
wouldn’t find anything that comes close.
Even
if you went to the, most far away star.
His
love is like the father’s love.
Watchful, patient and true.
And
just like the father, he will never leave you.
Give
him honour and respect he deserves, each and every day you live.
He’s
a treasure to be cherished and to him we must give.
All
of our love and devotion in return.
For
in the presence of our hearts, his love will burn.
For
no other place on earth will you find peace from all harm.
Nowhere else, but the shelter of a father’s arms.
Make
sure you tell him everyday that you love him so.
Because, one day, home to the Father he’ll go.
For
G-d the Father has given him love to share in words and deeds.
And
I’m so glad that he has shared that love with me.
LOWRY'S HINTS
HINT 1 -Impossible
stains on the inside of your microwave? Dissolve two tablespoons of baking
soda in one cup water in a small microwave-safe bowl. Let the solution boil
in the microwave for a few minutes so that the steam condenses on the
walls. Then wipe clean with a damp sponge. You should put something like a
toothpick in the water when boiling in the microwave to prevent explosive
boiling.
* * * * * * * * * *
HINT 2 - Store-brand denture cleaning
tablets work like a charm to remove stains from the bottom of vases, but
they also work great to remove grease build-up from kitchen drains.
Just drop a couple denture cleaning tablets down the kitchen drain, along
with a cup of hot water. Grease clogs can also be removed by pouring one
cup of salt and one cup of baking soda into the drain followed by a pot of
boiling water!

HINT 3 - When trying to save money, use
the Five R's: Repair, Restore, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - these alone will
save you a lot of money. Try it for a month or two to see how much you
actually do save. New isn't always better!
* * * * * * * * * *
HINT 4 - Before you buy something, ask yourself these
questions:
---Can I live without this?
---Do I need it? Or merely want it?
---Do I already have something I can use instead?
---Can I borrow it from a friend or family member?
---How long will I have to work to pay for this?

JOKES
Rev. Jones shocked the congregation when he announced his resignation
from the church and planned move to Arizona...
After the service a very distraught Mrs. Williams came to the pastor
with tears in her eyes, "Oh, Pastor Bill, we are going to miss you so much.
We don't want you to leave!"
The kindhearted pastor patted her hand and said, "Now, now, Liz, don't
carry on so... The pastor who takes my place might be even better than me."
"Yeah", she cried, "That's what Paster Mike said when he left!"

ESTATE PLANNING 101
When Dan found out he was going to inherit a
fortune when his sickly father died, he decided he needed a woman to enjoy
it with.
So, one evening he went to a singles bar where he
spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her natural beauty took
his breath away.
"I may look like just an ordinary man," he said as
he walked up to her, "but in just a week or two, my father will die, and
I'll inherit 20 million dollars."
Impressed, the woman went home with him that
evening to meet sickly father, and, three days later, she became his
stepmother.
Women are so much smarter than men.

A couple of opposing candidates for county
office happened to be sitting next to each other in the local diner...
One turned to the other and said, "You know why I'm going to win this
election? Because of my 'personal touch.' For example, I always tip
waitresses really well and then ask them to vote for me."
"Oh, is that so?" replied the other. "I always tip them a nickel and
ask them to vote for you."

To Clean a Plasma
Screen: First, unplug the power cord. Use a microfiber cloth to lift
off fingerprints or dust by wiping screen and to clean the remote control
too. DO NOT apply any solvent to the screen. Lightly vacuum the vents on the
rear panel every now and then.
-
Cheap Carpet
Deodorizer: To refresh carpet inexpensively, mix a teaspoon or so of
cinnamon with a box of baking soda (don't use on white or light carpet), and
sprinkle onto carpets (for white carpet, use baking soda alone). Let it sit
for a time and then vacuum up.
-
Cleaning a Bathing
Suit that Smells of Chlorine: To get rid of the chlorine smell, add
a drop of chlorine remover (it can be found at pet stores) to a gallon of
cool water. Mix really well, and then move the swimsuit around in it. Let it
soak for a couple of minutes, remove water and then hang the bathing suit to
dry.

Can't Get Windows
Open? Use a putty knife to wedge it all around the sides of the
window. On wood (never use on unfinished wood) windows, spray a tad of
furniture polish into the opened space, and on metal windows, spritz a bit
of a lubricant onto the channels and locks to loosen. Keep testing the
window to see if it moves. When it does, try to open it.
